Sounds like it. Which might actually be a good thing. I don't think anyone wants to be doing gatchas for new racers, karts, kart parts, skins, etc. It also shows Nintendo is still committed to providing more authentic gaming experiences on mobile devices, even after the harsh criticism of Super Mario Run and the immense success of Fire Emblem Heroes and it's gatchas.

Sweet! I had a blast playing Super Mario Run on my way to work. I have no problem giving them a couple of bucks for this as well. They'll prob do a better job this time around since they now have more experience in the mobile space.
