I was wondering what series everyone thought Viz might bring over next. They are set to bring over Gintama and Houshin Engi in 2007. They recently brought over Reborn. Reborn is fairly new in japan, just like D.Gray-man. I think the next series they will bring over are Muhyo to Rouji, Neuro, and possibly Puyu to Fuku Jagaur. I am not so sure about Jagaur, since it is a gag manga on the same lines as Bobobo. Bobobo didn't do so well so I don't know if they'd take the chance with Jagaur. Muhyo to Rouji seems to be your run of the mill supernatural manga. For some reason, it is one of the more popular new jump series. It has been running for about two years and is at volume 8. It will probably be animated before october. Neuro is a supernatural crime drama. I read some of it and it is really original. It is probably the best of the new series. It has been running almost the same as Muhyo. Both were featured in Jump Ultimate Stars. What does everyone else think?

I'd love to see Mr. Fullswing over here. I've been wanting to check it out for ages! It looks like it's really fun and intersting.

They have already brought over Gintama. It is being serialized in the monthly Shonen Jump magazine right now. It's one of their new featured series of the magazine. Chapter 2 was serialized recently in the January 2007 (why do they send the issues two months in advance?) issue of the magainze.

For new series, they're bringing Dragon Drive over in April 2007. I don't know about any other releases though.

I was going to post the exact same thing, but I don't imagine it's extremely popular. I haven't met too many people who have even heard of Fullswing, but I've read a few scanlations and I'd love to see it. I'm surprised they didn't release it when they were releasing all of those sports manga a year or two ago, but again, I think it's based on series popularity.

I'd really like them to bring over Taizo Mote King Saga. That might be a little too weird for america though. It's about a demon with a riceball shaped head who goes to earth to find legendary girls with star shaped nipples. It looks funny. It's one of the newer series. It was featured in Jump Ultimate Stars with Neuro and Muhyo.

And I realized most of you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Anime hyper

It involves nipples as a plot point? No way in hell they'll bring that over. Viz hates nipples.

My money''s on Neuro or Muhyo as well. Just based on length, everything longer than it has been licensed (excluding KochiKame of course, which will probably never see the light of day here), so next in line would be those two.
I also have this odd feeling that maybe Ral Grado(which just started last week) will be picked up pretty quickly as a tie in for Blue Dragon, since it is a Blue Dragon spin off. I also want them to bring over some older stuff, especially Hell Teacher Nube.

I find it surprising that Kochikame was licinsed in SPAIN but not here. If you look on youtube, they have the anime dubbed in Spanish. But I guess translating 151+ volumes is too much for for Viz. I kinda wish they would licinse Space adventure cobra. I watched some of the anime and I actually liked it (Even though I usually don't like older animes). I really hope for Neuro to get licinsed, and if Neuro does, Muyho will get licinsed not too far behind it. I really would like to see Blue Dragon get licinsed, since I am a huge Takeshi Obata fan. I really wish that Jagaur would get licinsed as well. I really think it looks interesting. Since Bobobo didn't do well (Do to poor marketing >:O), Viz will probably refrain from bringing all the joke mangas over. Jagaur and Taizo Mote will probably never get licinsed. Some that might get licinsed in the future are Mx0, Juki Ningen Jon Boll (New from the Shaman King guy), Controller M&Y. I doubt To Love Ru Trouble will, because there are too many Shonen Romance mangas clogging the market. They may when Black cat finishes because it's by the same mangaka. I doubt Maison du Penguin will as well just, because it's not important.

It may be clogged, but they still sell moderately well to my knowledge.

I noticed that Ichigo 100% has been bolded as Strawberry 100% in the encyclopedia, so that one seems to be coming over. With the Black Cat tie-in, I would be surprised if To Love-Ru didn't get licensed, though I'm not expecting anything in the very near future.

Penguin...is that the one that's mostly set up like a four panel comic? If it is, what's that series even about? And unless Jaguar gets an anime that magically shows up on Cartoon Network, I'd say it's pretty much a no go on it getting released here. I'd be less surprised to see a Kochikame release of some kind.

Gantz doesn't run in Shonen Jump. Rolling Eyes

It has been spotted on Amazon.com and I think the first volume comes out in February.

I can see that coming over with some edits.

Yeah, you wish. It's serialized in Young Jump over in Japan, so there's one thing keeping Viz from it, another is comparing it to Elfen Lied and Berserk in its content.
