Don't forget how things turned out last season. Funimation may yet get a few series currently only announced for CR and visa versa.

That said, there would have to be a limit to how many series Funimation can simuldub in a season, and I suspect they are approaching it, if not at it.

That last part is my fear also. I cant imagine them doing more than 18 (that's the most th hey have ever done at once) and they are already at 16 that they have officially announced.. Although the fact they are dubbing a show called ensemble stars cant be a good indication for this show we're discussing getting a simuldub.

Unless there was some kind of twist to it (i.e zombieland) or it's very extremely popular (i.e. love live) funimation hasn't really dubbed very many idol series. Which is why (I'm simply guessing here) they may have decided to dub it as a fill in to round out their lineup for number of shows this season (and maybe to try and see if there is a bigger market for these types of shows being dubbed).

Either way I dont think this bodes well for getting a dub for this show since the last couple of shows to be announced getting a dub probably (not officially yet) are accelerator and possibly try knights.

Agreed. While there isn't anything specifically keeping Funimation from licensing things sub-only, they are pretty committed to simuldubs as a selling point, so I'm sure that factors into how much they are willing/able to take on. During the partnership, there were some seasons that seemed small for Funimation based on the number of simuldubs announced, but when you add in ongoing titles, it's more than it seems. For example, it's easy to forget that things like Fairy Tail and Black Clover are ongoing projects with big casts to boot.

Fairy Tail is nearly over. And this anime looks like something funimation would love to dub. I do hope they or someone else does a dub. I think it will be a big hit. On the other hand funimation is way to into it's simuldubs. They have been so busy with them other ongoing shows have seen no dubs. For example one piece. There are still tons of subs not dubbed yet. Its been over 2 years since they have added any dub to that series. Even though there is a new sub every Saturday. Which is a sore subject for me. Anyways if Crunchyroll only has the rights for the sub, Just about anyone could buy the right to dub this. And I really really hope someone does. Looks like a great anime.
