Assuming you meant to say "Ghibli", I don't see how that promo comes off as a Ghibli rip-off.

Who cares? Let's just appreciate the fact that it's in 2D animation.

What about that teaser is "trying to be Ghibli" exactly? That it's in a forest/jungle? Such vitriol over literally nothing. The Pokemon community is becoming such a joke in its negativity over literally anything and everything.

It makes me hate the fandom. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it. Same with Star Wars. I’ve been a fan of Star Wars since 1997 and pokemon since 1998. I just enjoy it for what it is.

I’m loving the new generation and feel like I’m 10 again.

Let me be the first here to say this seems to be the 3rd installment of the film reboot franchise.

Don't think there's going to be anything but that moving forward. 2019's anime director mentioned the plans for the anime will be episodic adventures that anyone can watch at anytime, with no hangups on plot, region, or generation of game. Easily accessible for anyone, anywhere in the world. The movies will no doubt continue that route as well of being completely stand alone features. The anime has transitioned into a generalized advertising vehicle for the overall brand now rather than focusing on game adaptions or movies tied in to the current anime adaption.

So I guess the fan theory that the new season has reboot the TV anime to take place in the movie canon has been debunked since Go is nowhere in sight.

That one exception could be all over for 2D animation. Just like how it happened in America. It's all thanks to Pixar, that now all we get is 3D animation. So that's why I appreciate it because 2D animation doesn't exist in America anymore. 2D animation is becoming a dying art.

I don't see that happening in Japan at all. Japan and America are two completely different industries.

Well you never know. Anything can happen. All it takes is for one really popular movie for it to take off.
