Yes I do, for the whole family actually.

I don't consider anybody deserves forgives though, forgiveness it's up to the ofended, from a Christian point of view: "Forgive, if you can't then forget and let God forgive" don't remember who said that though.

I've seen some heated discussions about whether or not Endeavour deserves forgiveness and one of the arguments against forgiving him is that no-one should be obligated to forgive someone who has wronged them.

I've given this some thought and come to the conclusion that there are two types of forgiveness that often get jumbled together in these debates. Those two types being individual forgiveness and societal forgiveness.

I will never argue that any individual is obligated to forgive another. On the other hand who gets to dictate when an individual is forgiven by society? Some debts can never be repaid and some sins can never be atoned for. The harm that is done can often never be undone. Does that mean an individual can never live and work to achieve personal success in society ever again? Personally I don't think so but that's just me.

I think some of the heated arguments between those pro-forgiveness and those anti-forgiveness are arguing at cross-purposes. Where the pro-forgiveness camp is arguing the case for societal forgiveness whilst the anti-forgiveness camp feels like they are being pressured to provide their individual forgiveness.

One podcaster I listen to says they just want Endeavour to go away and not do hero work any more. My counter argument would be that Endeavour's work as a hero saves lives and how many people would die if Endeavour wasn't around? It seems to me this podcaster thinks that Endeavour enjoys the fame and notoriety of being a top hero and that his social standing is a form of reward that he doesn't deserve. I've never read Endeavour's character that way. Personally I believe Endeavour does not measure his own worth by his social standing but rather his achievements. He never wanted to be the most popular hero but rather the most capable one. That was the metric he always used to compare himself to All Might and the one he always fell short of.
