The final couple of episodes of The Eminence in Shadow exceeded my already high expectations, reaching a surprising conclusion but also teasing future plot hooks for a potential sequel. Certainly worthy of the top spot, at least for now.

What exactly was surprising about Eminence's conclusion...? It was basically business as usual the whole time.

the princess's despair when she realized their power difference and that scene of pink hair girl seemingly got obsessed for revenge haven't been touched yet in LN and manga
i was quite surprised by the last episode that they changed so much things that were just implicitly told before to be as clear as this
