I noticed that the animation director has suddenly changed mid-season. I'm assuming that's the person who has died. It's bizarre that they still haven't announced it.

I thought episode 7 looked janky, but it looks like the staffer who passed away was not an animation director, but art director Toru Koga. Starting with the 2023 reruns of episodes 1-6, Satoshi Fujimoto started sharing the art director credit with Koga.
