That is definitely a premise.

I'd wait for a trailer, but this still sounds interesting.

I love Goro Taniguchi's career arc so much. He'll do a high-concept series like Infinite Ryvius or Planetes, and then turn around and deliver an explosion of color and energy like s-CRY-ed or Back Arrow, and then just for a change of pace he'll return to the biggest manga franchise in history to direct its latest huge blockbuster. He's many things, but almost never boring. This sounds like it's firmly on the s-CRY-ed side of the scale, and I am here for that.

I agree. There's always something to look forward to in Goro Taniguchi's work.
(I wonder if someday someone will make something like Pride and Prejudice with Yakuza. I still remember that Yakuza Apocalypse thing that Takashi Miike made.)

Honestly looking forward to this, the fact this is the Estab-Life sequel film (that's been retitled but the marketing isn't hiding it since we clearly see the show's main cast in the trailer so I'm surprised ANN isn't acknowledging that) means the already absurd premise could be much wilder based on where the show took things.
