Even if it was just a part of the recap, seeing the epilogue be referenced feels kind of weird.

The constant birth/egg imagery in the trailers and title is not too subtle. The movie is almost certainly going to serve as a lead-in to the epilogue by explaining how we got to a world where basically everybody has a digimon.
