Ugh. I explicitely praised The Idolmaster and Cinderella Girls' anime for having full 2D animation for the dances, and hoped they were a sign that the industry would head in that direction. To see Million Live and Shiny Colors go the complete opposite direction just... depresses me. There are a few 3D anime I've actually enjoyed and admired for their animation and style (and to this day, I highly value Aikatsu's results), but I also could tell I'd like them from the trailers. This one just hurts my brain. The choppy 3D framerate intended to mimic 2D anime works when you're mixing 2D with 3D to at least blend the two together better, but here it just looks uncanny.
I like these games and I still look forward to the new Shiny Colors game, but the anime aren't interesting me. It stinks because I wanted them for years. Is there just something wrong with me? ):
