Any idea who the new VA is now? I can't seem to pinpoint it. I'm guessing Bryce Papenbrook is too big now for them to afford him? I'm not sure If I want the Steam version to be updated or not.

^ That's still Bryce tho, right? It sounds just like him. Did Adol not speak in the original game and these are newly recorded lines?

Adol is mostly silent, but like Link he still has a voice. Most you get out of him is attack names or short call outs like "let's move!". The western PC version of this game got a surprise voice acting update in 2020 which was over 8 years after the release in 2012! However he was not voiced in this game. The way I read the article was that he had been replaced with someone new. it does sound a little different, but I think you're right that it's him.

Exciting news for Ys fans! The English trailer's new speaking voice for Adol sounds promising—adding another layer of immersion. Plus, the "Refined Edition" with all those goodies!
