I liked the first season OK, but I wasn’t overly impressed. Considering this arc’s legendary status, I hope they up their game a bit.

This next arc is THAT good. There is a reason it's had like 6 adaptations. It should be quite a good watch.

I've found myself wondering if the Kyoto Arc had me retroactively giving the first season a higher assessment. This remake was basically the same thing, and it was fine, but not especially exciting. Then again, I watched the first anime, so maybe seeing the same stuff with a new coat of paint is only ever going to be "ok" to me?
