I hope they pick up the novel version as well, since it's quite different; not just longer versions of every scene, but whole scenes that didn't make the manga, and several big set pieces are completely different, swapped out for more visually dynamic action.

I don't understand how you make a spin-off/sequel to Diamond is Unbreakable and the setting DOESN'T take place AFTER the ending of Stone Ocean. If there's a burning question among fans is what the hell happened with these characters after that reset that changed some stuff but not everything.

That actually does exist... sort of. It's a novel called Jorge Joestar & one of the stories in it deals heavily with the alternate universes brought about from Stone Ocean's ending, including Morioh & some its residents playing a notable role.
For me, personally, I'm just going to pick this manga up because Hol Horse is awesome, and more Hol Horse is never a bad thing.
