When I first saw this show I thought it was an intentional parody and liked it a lot. Then I saw a couple of episodes of Fruit of Evolution by the same author and thought that maybe it was really just that bad, but I still like it. I just file it in the so bad it's good category. When I watch the protagonist survive being dropped through several collapsing floors of a burning building with a damsel in distress in his arms, jumping from third story windows and tossing four hundred pound thugs around as if they were toddlers, slapping enraged bears about and having his small puppy tackle and drag grown muggers to waiting policemen by their collars...all while the people around him don't suspect anything ("Wow, dude, you're amazing!").it makes me laugh, and not even in a mean spirited way. When he walks out into public and gathering crowds whisper to each other about how handsome he is until he invariably stumbles assbackwards into the next gorgeous female who is thunderstruck by his shy charm...when teachers beg to marry him and casting agents thrust business cards in his face...I just cackle at how over the top it is. Not only that, the show has plot holes the size of train tunnels and unlikely developments curled inside improbabilities wrapped around absurdities. Kind of The Reefer Madness of Isekai in my opinion.

While I certainly wouldn't place this one among the better or fresher isekai of the last few years, I still liked it, and it does feature some excellent character design work. I'll definitely watch a second season.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to passive-aggressively throw shade on the show or people who like it. I don't laugh at the show mockingly, like "How stupid! How can anyone like this trash! I'm so superior!" I think it's over the top and silly and so unself-conscious about doing what it wants without sweating the small stuff like logic or probability that I just enjoy it.

I enjoyed the first season for how utterly over the top wish fulfilling it was. Not unlike the recent Noble Reincarnation in that the mc can simply do no wrong and is always worshipped.

I genuinely laughed until I cried when I read this. Nice reference.
"I Got A Cheat Skill..." is absolute male wish fulfillment and I love it for being so unabashed about it. It's fun, goofy, likeable, and wears its heart on its sleeve. It also helps that the girls are all super cute, too.
I'm very happy to see the series get a second season. I just wish we could get the books from Yen Press faster than their current 1-volume-a-year pace. Not to mention, I'd love to get the spin-off books and manga as well.
Does anyone know if the TV special is getting streamed on Crunchyroll? I haven't seen anything about it being picked up yet for an English language release.

CR usually does pick up specials like that, so I'll be surprised if they don't get it. Whether we see it right away or not is another story.

Looking through here guess I'm the only one who didn't like it O_O
I like wish fulfillment too but the animation was downright atrocious; not even the good character designs could save it.

I had exactly the same experience with this that Edjwald did and am unironically looking forward to the second season. In fact, I may even rewatch the first season for prep, a move that makes me think I've probably lost my mind.

And then everyone clapped: The Anime.
