A lot of love and care went into this! Loved it! Still iffy on the game but that's because of the price which is worse then Mario Kart World.

It's such a wild time to be a fan of Kart games. All of the maneuvers you can pull off on World are actually pretty impressive - there's many shortcuts and skips, the likes I've not seen since F-Zero GX in regards to jumping course sections. And yet, the online portion is a nightmare in regards to getting the sort of match type most people want - very likely because Nintendo doesn't want a handful of dominant players shutting everyone else out. It's probably some of Nintendo's most impressive Mario Kart gameplay (check out how much bouncing around the top players can do on YouTube), yet it's buried under a bunch of Nintendo-created issues. I'm fine passing on this one since I can still enjoy the older ones just fine. On the other hand, the actual technical gameplay part of CrossWorlds isn't even as deep as it was on Transformed due to how that game levied physics against how many "safe" tricks you could land while still carrying your momentum forward. CrossWorlds is a bit barebones and item-heavy if you compare them, and yet the multiplayer -particularly Team Play- in addition to the vehicle and gadget customisation suddenly rockets the game up towards being one of THE biggest group-friendly Kart games I've had the pleasure of playing since the Wii Mario Kart game. The dialogue between characters is snappy, the callbacks to other older stuff is pretty solid, but even in the small window of time the game has been up, I've not had this many people playing a game like this in one big group since the Wii MK days - my opinion of the game has completely turned around. The increased price on it really hurts. $50 would be an instant sale, $70 really makes it tough even though I want it. |

They're really leaning into doing these cool animations to hype up game launches and I love every minute of it!
