i'm honestly kinda psyched. might either buy the gabecube or get an attachment for my steam deck to connect it to my tv, because i've been wanting to play my steam games that way for a while.
of course, i am curious about that price, though

I am interested in the Steam controller more than anything. I'd like to try the trackpads to see if I like that. Hopefully a pricing announcement comes out soon.

Me too, I like connecting my Steam Deck to the TV but it always feel like attaching a computer to a projector and it's not as smooth as docking my Switch (as in there are sometimes dislay issues I must troubleshoot)
Having one that's made specifically to be connected to a display and can double as a computer much more efficiently than the Steam Deck sounds pretty useful! Depending on if they want an arm, a leg, or both of course.

As someone who's looking at a PC upgrade and would also like to do a little gaming, this does seem appealing.

Of them all I'm probably most interested in the Steam Frame, actually, and it's mainly because of the fact that it can be treated as a wholly standalone gaming experience. My only prior time with VR was a short bit with the PSVR for PS4, but I've always been turned off by how the vast majority of the modern VR headsets have to be connected to other hardware in some way, and while I know that the Meta Quest 3 is another standalone VR headset I don't have any connection to Facebook/Meta, so a Steam-connected one from Valve appeals more to me.
That's not to say that I'll necessarily buy the Steam Frame, especially depending on the cost, but this is probably the first VR headset that I'm actually interested in, potentially.

I think the Steam Frame and Controller will do well. The new Steam machines...not as sure cause they state they will be PC Priced. I think they realistically need to be closer to console pricing(given that's not as bad now as all the prices keeping rising). This would be a perfect gap closer for people who might be interested in pc gaming but for w/e reason whether it be price or setup won't get a pc.

Hopefully a pricing announcement comes out soon. | As person who still has the original Steam controller it's the bees knees! With the right settings it's like combining the analog movement of a stick on one hand and the smooth, accurate aiming of a mouse on the other. Playing a game like Mad Max or GTA where driving works better with a stick instead of WASD but looking/aiming works better with a mouse instead of a stick is just sooooo good. For added depth using one of the extra paddle buttons to engage/disengage gyro to fine tune your aiming it just feels like cheating at that point. At the least you'll love those extra paddle buttons which can be assigned not only just keys and button presses but also stuff like increase/decrease the volume to taking screenshots or recording video. Micro's are also possible. And while the new one can't beat the original on battery life (80-100 hours on 2 AA's!) 35 hours is still better than any of the console manufacturers except the Switch 1 and 2 Pro controller (40 hours). The controller also works wonders for people who have minor disabilities aka people like me.
The Steam Frame I will glady replace my Rift S (those basterds lied me) if they can make it around $750-1000 USD. If it's cheaper than that thats a day one buy because I never got to finish Half-Life Alyx.

Will probably get the controller as I missed the fire sale for the first one back in the day and I'm really interested in trying out those pads, not interested in the VR.
As far as the Steam Machine goes I was initially super excited especially since I'm currently looking to build a new PC and thought hey this could take the place of it! I also have 2 older SFF cubes (Lian li and Corsair), so I like cubes. Then I saw the specs and was immediately underwhelmed. The GPU is RDNA3 with 8gigs vram and isn't even equivalent to a budget level Radeon 7600. Unless you are running an old game, platformer or pixel graphics this seems like a 1080p at medium settings system. On top of that you can't upgrade the graphics and you are basically buying 3-4 year old hardware. I don't need top of the line hardware, but this feels too gimped for my preferences. However, if its priced right (say $450-500) I could see it eating into some xbox sales.

The success of the GabeCube will boil down to costs vs a gaming PC. Steam Deck is one thing, it’s a dedicated portable. Harder to build yourself.

Not available in my region.
Also, the pricing will be it's death or success. I wonder if Valve secured a ton of RAM before the prices got ridiculous?

I hope the price is nice, I wouldn't mind picking one up for a retro emulation box

As a disclaimer I owned an Xbox 360 and I only recently became the owner of a Xbox X so I’m not taking shots in favor of Sony, Nintendo, or PC Master Race BS (I also own a Asus Gaming Laptop).
But what “sales” would they be cutting into?
Espcially since MS has largely stopped reporting the numbers of what the Xbox consoles move.

I don't really see the appeal as a PC gamer. Steam already has Big Picture mode and controller support.
