I still consider the anime adaption to be among the best live-action TV show manga adaptions out there.

The original anime was one of the worst adaptions I ever saw where the rotoscoping completely killed the source material. A live-action adaption would unironically be better as at least there would be no pretense it wasn't real people with an awful filter put over them.

There are some different opinions here. I felt that the Flowers of Evil anime is literally the best looking animation I've ever seen, some of the scenes and details were breath taking. I've always followed other projects with rotoscope though, in western and eastern animation. It just doesn't follow the tropes of anime. I hope that the live action has some digital or artistic effects that look like the manga. I have high hopes.

this could be really good or really bad. i hope they go with a creative team known for making good indie movies.
