Barely opened the voting page and it automatically cast votes on Gachiakuta for AOTY and Solo Diarrhea for Best Continuing Series, didn't even click on anything, couldn't change it either, off to a good start.
Also whoever picks the shortlists for this award show really needs a rule to limit anime to one genre award nomination, having My Dress Up Darling show up on three separate genres is ridiculous. |

Definitely refraining from voting in some categories since I don't know enough from the options there, but I'm glad Anne Shirley and Takopi got some nominations. Anne definitely isn't winning, but I enjoyed watching it.

Was going to get annoyed about City not making it on Best Animation, but then I saw they still have the stupid "Must Protect At All Cost" category and remembered how deeply unserious CR's attempt at an awards show is. Maybe one day they'll figure out how to ripoff the Oscars and realize you can have awards for stuff like Sound Design or Photography (if they know what any of that is)

I love DANDADAN but it being in 3 genre categories (love the romantic pair in the show but Romance anime???) is crazy. Apocalypse Hotel is only in one category. Cinderella Grey and Ave Mujica are nowhere!
Also MaoMao in "Must protect"? The whole point of her character is that she can take care of herself. Like I get it's a popularity contest, so let's just count our blessings that AoT is not gonna win everything this year, but at least the nominations should expose people to a bit more variety. |

Time to brace for Dankdadank robbing a bunch of actually deserving winners. Makes me miss the Solo Awards of last year; at least those were funny. Lol lmao at the Anya Award continuing for Anya; actual tragedy that Suika will get robbed. Double lol lmao at the absolute state of the SOL category. No one in their right mind puts Blue Box there. Y'all are smoking the fine stuff.

Maomao is on the "Character I Most Want To Protect" list for very different reasons than everyone else on that list.

I'm mixed on the idea behind the genre categories. I can see wanting to recognize something that was really good at what it was, even if it isn't show of the year. But, having any series show up in multiple categories also makes the categories feel somewhat pointless. Anime tend to have elements of all sorts of things in them, and you're bound to leave out some contenders by letting anything be nominated across multiple categories.
Anyway, fully expecting Dan da Dan to be the popular thing that wins lots of categories this year. "Must Protect" seems like it's basically a joke category now. Anya is on it every year for as long is the category and a new season of SpyxFamily coincide. It makes even less sense as a category since it's a replacement for the Best Girl/Best Boy. That is how you wind up with MaoMao in the running for something where she is basically the opposite. |

Here's me wondering how many awards they'll give Solo Leveling this time around simply because Sony desperately wants to convince everyone it's the greatest thing ever. I'm genuinely surprised they didn't include it for Anime of the Year again.
