I'm not sure I'd have put Cinderella Gray as "anime of the year", but it was certainly a strong show. It's funny how, after a somewhat patchy first season, "the silly horsegirl show" has gone on to put out a succession of really solid sports stories.

Definitely my Anime of the Year next to Tokapi's Original Sin and My Dress-Up Darling.

I’m glad for Umamusume but it feels like the voters didn’t watch a whole lot of shows from last year because almost all the picks besides a handful were sequels or an on going franchise like Umamusume. I love Spy x Family but there’s no way it’s a better comedy than City the Animation.

Spy x Family might be one of my favorite comedies but... season 3 was surprisingly darker.
