They have made an English Dub of Great Teacher Onizuka. You can check the encyclopedia for most of these kind of questions. Haven't seen the dub version myself, so I couldn't tell you if it's any good or not. Also don't think you'll find any streaming site tips here either Static29.

There has been an English dub for quite some time now. If you live in the U.S. in a location which gets the "on demand" service Anime Selects (requires digital cable or satellite) then the dub of GTO has been available for free on that for the past month. Otherwise you'll have to buy one of the DVDs, which should be readily available at Amazon or any online anime retailer. It's not a recent enough series for it to be (legally) available via streaming video, and we can't talk about the illegal options here.

Well I'm glad you at least saw it in Japanese first because frankly, the dub sucks. There are major miscasts for a lot of the vital characters and a lot of recycled voices for multiple roles. Last I counted, I think there were 30-something VAs dubbing 80+ characters, while the Japanese cast has something like 60-something seiyuu.
On top of that, they Americanize a lot of the dialogue to make it "cooler for Americans" or whatever excuse you want to use. They take out a lot of cultural jokes and references, butcher pronunciations (MISS FOOYOOTSOOKI, WTF?!), and add some vulgarities just because most Americans think cursing = funny, which works with say.. Chris Rock or George Carlin, but not so much here. I'm insulted they were even allowed to let that piece of crap pass, but whatever. |

Last I heard the series had a dub, then they let the liscense expire. Recently Funimation bought the rights to redistribute the series and I hear it is (or possiblely has already) come out. There are going to be two collections I believe.
Edit: The first of Funi's sets is out already. |

Tokyopop has the original license for GTO. There are 2 5-disc box sets available for the complete series. The first set is available dirt cheap, but the cost of the 2nd box is wayyyy inflated. I didn't really pay much attention to the dub simply because I don't typically watch them, but Tokyopop has horrible dvd quality v_v

I think Funi just took over the distribution -- I never heard about TP's license expiring.
