I do not like the way this is going. It is confirmed that there is a new zero and that this one is not leouch and a new kid named Rollo, and Knight of Rounds Suzaku.

No leouch as of yet and high possibility of Rollo being the main lead. Sunrise don't screw this up just when it was getting good!

Still, how is it going to transition from the original series end point to this? o_O

So I'm assuming they are going to skip forward in time straight away for the first episode, maybe have C.C narrate something like, "In the year 20xx (can't remember the date it was set) blah blah blah The Zero Incident occurred that rocked Japan to its foundations blah blah blah now X years have passed...", maybe show off the new Zero/Rollo and than go straight into the OP.

Just great, while I personally don't mind it if something like that happened, the amount of whining and bitching about where's Lelouch, what happened etc will just be overwhelming. Heck I'll stake my account here that Lelouch will be back as the main focus by episode 10 of the series. Which will lead to us seeing via flashback what happened after Stage 25 from his perspective at least.... I'm sure there will be a scene from Suzaku's memory before that.

But...BUT...Lulu is Code Geass! Confused

Oh well, I suppose I'll have to admit that he does feel like a spent character -- too deeply nailed in the conflict so to speak that it'll probably mean 20 something episodes of constant high tension if he's back full-time, and any light-hearted content will require at least some level of "resetting" in the script.

Hope the new kid is remotely as awesome as our powermongering prince, though I don't know how they'll pull that off without being a Lelouch clone.

By the way, what's the Japanese text sayin'? I'm not proficient in moonspeak...

Also, obligatory SUZAKU MUST DIE! (although he does look so much cooler in that preview) Smile

It says one year since that time, so we will see.

I am worried that this time-hop approach is going to be too much of a fragment for the plot. Geass, at the end of the first season, is still riding the flow real well. To suddenly cut it off like how they may be doing is not good. I hope they don't screw this up. This is one of my favorite new series.

As soon as Lelouch arrives back on the scene I expect that the shit will hit the fan :) Also after Stage 24+25 I like Suzaku a lot more and his new outfit looks spiffy.. cape ftw!?

Also only a 1 year time skip hmmm.. I was expecting maybe 2-3 so they could utilize the school characters in another setting, like say Shirley joins Suzaku's staff, Rivalz becomes a journalist or whatever. Looks like they will be foil for Rollo though.

Well I just had a look at the forums for site I guess I'm not suppose to mention which is a BT site. Anyway lots of interesting stuff in their CG Spring thread with quotes from interviews with Goro Taniguchi (the director of Geass if you didn't know as well as Ryvuis, Planetes, Scyred and GunXSword) and more people.

Here's one comment which shows this will probably not be the conclusion of the Lelouch story.

Quote:
- "The story has only just begun. I'm really sorry about that. (bitter laugh)" (PASH! Taniguchi interview)

On an animation side of things

Quote:
ARTIST REMARKS;

Geass season 2 requires more frames than most other shows. This is where it gets interesting, because she actually describes some of the scenes:

Lulu positioning a chess piece, 20 frames, 3 days to complete
XX (new character) takes off helmet, 20 frames, 2 days to complete
XXX (new character), hair waving in the wind, 14 frames, 1 and a half days to complete

- Her opinion on the season 2 art style: It's closer to KimuTaka and ChibaYuri's style now than it is to CLAMP's. According to her this makes it all the more difficult to animate, and she suspects that Code Geass season 2 is now #1 on the industry's "Black List" (I'm assuming it's a list of shows animators would rather not work on because of the workload)

Since I really like Kimura's style I'm happy to see that and wow at the lenght of time to animate that stuff @_@ Anyway thanks to Marioshinobi from that forum.

Yup, I could see Rivalz as a journalist alright. Although I still think -Rollo- is a terribly uncool name for the new Zero. And boy does he look innocent! Is it an evil genius or is it a "Suzaku/Lulu before their corruption!?"

If he says the story's just starting then it's going to be one looong epic. Not that I don't think they can't pull it off, Eureka 7 did a 50 episode run with very little fillers and the story was much thinner than this one. In the end I hope they keep it as Lelouch's story though. It's just not right for Code Geass to be anything other than the tale of a fallen prince.

Also, what's KimuTaka and ChibaYuri anyway?

As long as they can keep the entertainment level high I too wouldn't mind a few more seasons of this. I just hope Goro Taniguchi can find some time to other stuff in addition to just Code Geass since I really like everything he has done. And yeah need to keep Lelouch/C.C in it!

KimuTaka = Takahiro Kimura who adapted the character designs from CLAMP for the anime.

Original Character Design: CLAMP
Character Design: Takahiro Kimura

The girls come across as complete Kimura stlye to me and a lot more of his fans. I had no idea about ChibaYuri so I just typed in Chiba and this is the right person.

person#9

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) : Animation director (ep 1, 11, 15ast, 23ast, 25), Chief animator, Overall Animation Director (2-11, 13, 17, 20-22)

Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm speechless. That boy is going to be the new main character? He looks weaker than Suzaku! But hey, Suzaku does look cooler.

If he's a Geass user and is going to be the new Zero than his looks don't really matter do they?

I wonder if Lelouch mentor that boy or something like that. Just a wild guess.

The thing is. I don't see where you got the idea that roro is automatically the new zero. It's a possibility, but hardly the only one.

Well that's interesting. I had some issues with the first season, but my expectations for things making sense are a bit lowered and it was quite the ride, so I'm curious to see where they go with this. This will certainly shake things up.
