It's kind of hard to recommend since I don't think Kare Kano and Love Hina are all that much alike. I just listed off some random titles that seem to have some similarities to the two you listed.

I recommend Chobits for alot of people. For the romantics at heart I recommend Kare Kano and Wish. For the more action and killing types I recommend Samurai Deeper Kyo. (It's more for boys because it displays alot of women body parts and refers to them also.) Also for the romantics at heart I RECOMEMED Mars
