What do you think should still be on toonami and adult swim? I think that they should have kept the anime that had hundreds of episodes. Now all we get are anime that have at the max like 50 episodes. It doesn't make sense! They should have kept deathnote on. It had a great storyline and deathnote had wonderful suspense.

Death Note IS still on- on the same day it's always been on. And a good portion of their lineup is still 100+ episode series- Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and the occassional attempt to revive Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, if you count them. I must say, though, why do you think the presumed move away from longer series is a bad thing? In my experience, any series that goes into three digits does so by means of fan-annoying filler and stretched-out plotlines, not to mention the distinct variations in quality over so many years. |

I like really long shows. Inuyasha is good because you don't have to hardcore follow it to still enjoy it. Plus, whenever I catch it its usually an episode I haven't seen before. I like that about TV. However, US tv doesn't really do massive arcs so the re-runs are great because you can jump in anywhere and still enjoy it. For short anime, you can't just jump in at any point or alot of stuff won't make sense... which leads to me just changing the channel.

True. But sometimes long shows leads to repetition. Like Inuyasha is just about slaying demons and stuff.Sure they'll be for different reasons for each fight but it does get kinda tiring. One episode...slay a demon.Second episode....slay demon,get jewel shard.Third episode...slay a demon again. Nothing against Inuyasha though :] |

Shame about the ratings of Case Closed. That would have been a fun one to tune in to week by weekly.
I miss most old shows from Toonami. Heck, I EVEN miss DBZ. Really. My favorite was G Gundam and Outlaw Star as a little 'un. I can't vouch for G Gundam's quality, as I haven't seen it in a long time, and would watch anything when I was little... ...But I went back and watched Outlaw Star recently. My gosh, how much of that show did they have to edit to put it on TV?! I can't believe I never picked up on all the sexual humor before, but it's all over that show, and it's hysterical. I love Fred Lowe.

A good deal. Look in the "Edit List". I agree about Case Closed, it's the ideal show to watch every few nights when you can't sleep. |

I agree, I absoulutely love long anime series because they are more enjoyable when long. Before i wouldn't watch series under 100 episodes but i have learned that they are taking over the anime world and i have found a lot of good short series.And there's one very good thing about short series and that is that you get to the ending quicker. Even if it leaves you hanging in an action series there will always be alot of action. Qeustion though, for all of you that love short series, well why do you get excited over a second series. Like i mean yeah thats cool but then why dont you like it to be a long series? there's was a post about your favourite length of an anime and most everybody said 50 at best.

This is somewhat of a hoity-toit forum compared to a lot of forums. At least, a lot of people that post here are BIG-TIME anime afficionados and don't just watch Bleach and Inu-Yasha. That's part of it. They take in more, and most series are short, actually. My reasons for liking short series is that I care about story, and love films and novels as well as anime series. You just can't tell a story very efficiently in hours on hours with occasional filler and repeated arcs. Those are good for wasting time, but people like me who get totally attached to good entertainment find favorites in short, sweet, memorably told stories with good solid budgets and directions. There are loads of other reasons, but that's my main one. ...Ouch. They really DID edit the pus out of Outlaw Star. They needed to, but SOME of it was totally unnecessary and would send fans up in arms now. |

Longer anime tends to get to the point where it's obvious the writers (or the writer of the manga) are just making stuff up as they go along (this also applies to American shows like Lost). I like well told stories that don't constantly reset so the story can keep going. On the other hand, I have no issue with the SAC style of making the arcs entirely contained stories. |

Anyone know if they still show Cowboy Bebop anymore? The last time I saw it on Adult swim was the last episode. It's always nice to see amazing anime on tv, even if it doesn't have the best dubs.

For Toonami i think they should keep the Brand new Narutos, Blue Dragon (it is looking to be a pretty good anime), and maybe revive Yu Gi Oh GX (they cut that off in a hurry).
Either that or extend toonami and remove that hour block of goosebumps (who watches that anyways), then put some good anime up there. For Adult Swim they should bring Yu Yu Hakushio in the lineup, keep Bleach, Death Note, and remove some of those 15 mins shows (like that heavy metal show) and shin chan. |

I'm all for what you saying but they MUST keep Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Pretty much the only show worth watching on that channel. |
