So Toonami is going to be on Saturdays then? What'll they put on the weekdays?
Or, will there be Toonami Mon.-Thurs., but with better stuff on Saturday? SEED on Toonami eh? Makes sense. Wing was the first Gundam series I saw, and it initiated my liking for the entire franchise. I guess SEED on Toonami could possibly do the same for others. Though not having seen any, I'm not sure how much will have to be edited. |

And what about Adult Swim? Wasn't the original plan to show it on Saturday nights with Wolf's Rain, SEED, Inuyasha, and Conan ("Case Closed") or something like that?

Here it says "Action Block" on Saturdays. I haven't watched CN in a while. There's been some switching around of the AS schedule, Action Block, Toonami, so I don't know if SEED was ever planned to be with InuYasha. I just know that Adult Swim was being extended to include Saturdays? or something. |

A lot people jumped to conclusions when they heard that Seed was coming to Saturdays since it coincided with the return of AS. What people didn't take into account was that Seed was never mentioned in the cards along with the other series and the Animatrix starts off AS on April 17th, while the other series start off April 24th. |

Yeah.
There's also some descrepincies with the schedules. According to CN's press release, Toonami will air Saturdays 7 PM to midnight. This conflicts with the earlier info we were given about AS Saturday starting at 11 PM. We probably won't know until the April schedule comes out next week or so. However, since no new airtimes were given for either Inuyasha or Wolf's Rain, I assume the 7-12 was a mistake. Though things could have changed in a month, but I'm sure we would have been updated. |

You know, there's now a bright side to this, a very, very bright side to this. Now that Toonami is on Saturday Prime Time there's no longer a gap in the weekly Cartoon Network schedule when it comes to ages. Before it was all ages, kids friendly stuff on Toomai on weekdays and SVES on Saturdays, and adult stuff on Adult Swim. Now that we have an actual dedicated teen block things are more evened out, there's Miguzi for kids, Toonami for teens, and Adult Swim for Adults. What makes this great is now Cartoon Network wont be able to use the excuse of a series not fitting a demographic, the new Toonami will be the absolute perfect place to show stuff like Naruto and One piece or other series that they had seen as too violent for the old Toonami and not adult enough for Adult Swim.
This is really going to be a great arangement. Emerje |

Wow. That's a really good point. I guess all that remains now, is licensing more stuff right? |

As long as they lighten up on editing by the time SEED shows up, I'll be happy. The content isn't too bad, but there are some important scenes (some character deaths, such as spoiler[Nicol's, Natarle's, Tolle's, Patrick's, Shani's, & Raww's], spoiler[Yzak getting his scar], spoiler[all that Nazi-esque Blue Cosmos nonsense and Patrick Zala's "master race" speak]) that would not fly on the current level of editing Toonami has. They can remove Nameless Pilot #12's death spoiler[at the hands of the CYCLOPS] and I wouldn't mind, but the stuff that's important to the plot I'd like to see left in.
I'm optimistic, don't get me wrong. But in my eyes, the name "Toonami" has a lot of negative stigma attached to it in its current form. |

Do you have a point there. Now, more licensing please? |

Though watching Gundam SEED onn Toonami will be cool, but I rather just walk to my nearest anime store and get the whole series on DVD...thats the best way for me, since Toonami tends to "cut" some parts out.

The DVDs won't be for several months yet. Anyway, if the move to a more "teen-oriented" programming set is to be believed, I don't think there will be quite so many edits made here. At least not that many that are all that important to the plot (I think the series can get along just fine without spoiler[the nameless soldiers popping like zits everytime a super-weapon is fired and the one or two "suggested sex" shots with Kira & Fllay]).

Nagisa, sorry I thinik I should have been more specific on the DVD I should have said that I would get the DVD imported from Japan, and there is a store near by me that sells import DVDs like Gundam SEED, sorry for the confusion...

Are you sure they're imports and not just bootlegs? I know a couple stores around here that claim to have "Japanese imports," but they ultimately turn out to be peddling shoddy region 0 pieces of...(a word I can't say on here without getting into trouble).
Not trying to be mean, just trying to give you a little heads-up to that in my own...uncouth sort of way. |
