Initial D: do you like the dub?

I have seen it a few times and just cant get into it a whole bunch. Its good except they didn't need to change the music and ad all the slang. like "dude!! totally!!"

i just would like comments on this.

Actually, I think the ridiculous overuse of slang is pretty funny at first. But then it gets old after about an episode.

It's not a bad dub, just a hilariously bad script. I could see (hear?) the voices they picked as the characters (except for Ryousuke Takahashi. They should have cast Brian Drummond as Ryousuke Takahashi) but the words they were saying just seemed very out of sync.

The real crime wasn't the dub script, it was the music change and the re-edit of the racing sequences.

But we got a good sub DVD for 16 bucks. Nothing really to complain about.

except for the "you've already seen me in a swimsuit" and the glaring lack of papa in the sub...

When I watched it, all it seemed to scream was "RICER!" The music sucked, the lingo sucked. If I wanted to watch something like that again, I'd watch ricers race, they get hurt. Laughing

It was funny at first, but then it got stupid, but, in any dub, it's going to be out of sync, but, not as badly as Intial D was.
