I just finished watching the anime, and well... lets just say the ending left alot to be desired.

My question is, does the manga continue the story? Also, how far apart are the releases? I noticed that only 5 have been released in english thus far...

I'm so completely addicted to this series that I just must know what happens next... I love the characters and the story, I just hope the Manga is just as good, or even better then the anime.

dude, the manga IS the story. right now it's at about 29 volumes. the end of the anime was pretty much the beginning of the events that are taking place.. the anime also left out a lot of interesting events that happened along the way as well.

I believe volume 28 has just been released. Based on my and other Berserk fans opinions that I have seen online, the manga is about halfway done, as the current storyarc is rumored to lead up to the main one of the series.

28 volumes and it's still leading up to the main arc? I can hear Dave Sim shaking in his boots ('course, he'd probably try to explain how Berserk is a plot by the Feminist-Homosexualist Axis to undermine him...)

I wonder how much F'ed up stuff they can still pack into Berserk. I think I remember someone saying it will end at around 50 volume but that's just a rumor. Need to find that website again. Well it's pretty much Kentarou Miura's life work.

RUMORS. But yes, I would say it is leading up to the main plot, or just started. It will be interesting to see if Berserk does go the way of the recent biblical rumors going about spoiler[that Griffith is the antichrist], but since I know little on biblical matters, I can't tell you anything. But my prediction: Ishidoro and Puck own on everybody. BEST. ENDING. EVER.

More or less, the Anime's entire focus is a 'flashback' of sorts (to a time referred to as "The Golden Age" in the manga, I believe. I've loaned mine out at the moment or I'd reference. Wink) as is evidenced by the fact that in Episodes 1 & 2, Guts is almost a completely new person (The Black Swordsman). The manga starts off similarly, though there are some subtle (okay, HUGE) differences For example: spoiler[Puck is the one being harassed in the bar, rather than Collette, who comes into the story much later, and exits in a rather grisly fashion]. It also continues on for a good bit longer before entering the flashback to the Band of the Hawk (which doesn't start til the 4th Volume of the English published books) The manga is very much not for the faint of heart. Its much more graphic than the anime, and at times delves into the sexually perverse as well. (Mighty Zodd wang... *shudder*)

I definately recommend it though. The story is amazing, as is the artwork. Now here's hoping we get a port of that pretty new PS2 Berserk Game. Smile

Dude, some of it is just sick. Like when Wyld, well you know, in volume 12. Man, my jaw it the floor when I saw that sucker.

Haha, how did I miss that? Those people; I wonder how they would react to Shira, whos kindest quote regarding women is "I freakin hate women" . I won't go into how he finds sexual intercourse boring unless...guess I won't go that far. But Shira tends to derive joy at hating every living thing he meets. In any case, Sim is a psycho, but in a good way.
