When I watched episode 1, I thought I was in for a mile-a-minute wacky-fest. In subsequent episodes there is actual drama. What a nice surprise! It's still 90% wacky. I'm really liking this show so far.

English script is not particularly accurate

Is that for the subtitles or the dub script?

I'm going to assume dub script, since it does take quite a few liberties.

On the whole I do like Kodocha a lot, and I think considering the circumstances, age and content of the series that the dub was pulled off as well as could be. While I'm over the various licensing issues it has been through, I would've really prefered if this was done in Marmalade-style bricks as opposed to individual volumes, considering the length and age.

when i first picked up this series, i thought it was going to be kidish and not really that great(im a big fan of elfen lied and inuyasha)......but as i watched it, i fell in love with it. These kids definately do not have the problems of a regular 6th grader. I love the dancing that they do at the beginning of each episode and that Sana is Laura Bailey(torhu from fruits basket), Rei is shigure(from fruits basket) and Akito is Kyo(from fruits basket) are all in this series together because it reminds me of how much i love fruits basket!

I think it's done this way for marketing reasons... they need the money from more expensive individual DVD releases...

Well, I dunno

ALSO, I really enjoy the dub... they actually toss in a lot of extra funny stuff in the script like that thing that Greg Aryes said at the pool about his uncle Razz

Also...

Man, I thought you (Steve) quit these forums! I'm glad you didn't.

Personally, I prefer the way they're doing it. I mean, as much as I love Marmalade Boy, I just can't get myself to pay the $100 or so for a chunk. But I can more easily shell out the $20-30 bucks for an individual volume of Kodocha every now and then.

The boxsets don't have to be $100, atleast as far as I care Smile
