At long last Very Happy Oh, boy, I thought this had been cancelled or something. Anyways, 4 episodes left really does sound like too little... I dunno, I had the feeling with the slow pacing and all that this was going to be a 2 cour series... we'll see. Great news, nevertheless...

This was listed as 24 for a while and they said they were going to cover all 26 endings in the end gags. Obvious a few of those have to be Canon throughout the epsidoes if they're doing A through E as intended

Wow they took their sweet ass time, well at least they’ll finish the season in one day compared to misfit of Demon King Academy, which THEY HAD TO RE-AIR EPISODES 1-6 weekly starting from July 8, BEFORE REACHING EPISODE 7 on August 19!!!

This was supposed to be (or at least had great potential to be) the next big thing.
Instead, they messed it up big time. Now sadly the momentum has been lost.

Indeed! It's a real shame!

Perhaps, but even if it was the next big thing - every anime title is such a flash in the pan. It would have been over and we'd be moved on to a new thing. At least before simu-dub's we'd have a dub to look forward to, but now - it'd be over and done with.

Excellent. I'm glad to hear they are going to run all the remaining episodes on the same day as opposed to rebroadcasting from episode 1. I guess because there were only 4 episodes left, this was deemed a viable way to go.

Oh, 4 episodes? So they're stopping halfway.

Beloved video game adaptations are never really the next big thing. For as popular as Persona 5 the video game was, for instance, the P5 anime didn't really have any impact.

This anime at least hinted that it might do something different from the games, while P5 was a mostly straight, heavily compressed adaptation (aside from the pretty good original episode in the middle).

No 2nd relaunch. Thank god. Let´s see how S2 (of 2) will pay out and when. The show´s only real deviation from the game (+ the stage play) is a detail with Emil and Lilly taking over Anemone´s role.

There has never been a direct game adaptation in anime form that became a true "hit". Never ever. What about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners? What about it! The anime´s plot is 100% original and only one villain from the game got a supporting role. Sonic X made it on international daytime time, even here in Germany, but it too has a (near) original plot.

Nier is easily the best game to anime translation so far and was adventures on public transportation in Europe. I´ll eat a brick if it won´t finish its run but momentum was lost and won´t easily be regained. Even with no more issues going forward.
