Not too surprising but well-nominated.

I haven't seen the movie; is it anime related? I guess it must be but can someone tell me how; I'm asking rather than doing an internet search because internet searches are so garbage nowadays and I'm hesitant to give searches/views to something I'm dubious about. Visually, it looks very western to me, and about Korean media so where comes the anime. Really sorry for the ignorance, hope it's not too annoying.

It's Western animation, from the people who brought us Into the Spiderverse, but the music is produced by Teddy from Black Label and members of TWICE have participated in the soundtrack, not to mention being having largely Korean or Korean-American key figures in cast, writing, direction, and production.

Had to look up Black Label. So, I'm not crazy or misunderstanding..... it's not produced in Japan or by anyone in the anime industry at all? nor is it about anime or even look like anime? I have to wonder why it's being reported on on this website.

Because ANN reports on things that’s asian/asian media related but not exclusively anime related.
It’s not as complicated as others like you asking this question had made it out to be.

Awesome!
Shame I can't take the Grammy seriously after that Expedition 33 snub, though. Best game soundtrack in years, one of the best of all time and crickets??

While I agree it deserves all the awards, my understanding is that it wasn't submitted for consideration?

I guess you missed the news, but ANN has already reported on Korean stuff including webtoons, and Korean animation and anything Korean since the beginning of the year.

There’s a great deal beyond just anime within the rather large umbrella that is “anime culture,” and what those things are will change over time because that’s just what culture does.

It’s going to be between it and Sinners in most of those media categories.

ANN has been reporting on Korean comics for quite some time, and this includes drama adaptations of webtoons and Korean animation.

As I've mentioned before - Most notably, “Golden” was nominated for Song of the Year. This isn’t a huge surprise, considering how “Golden” has dominated the charts and pop culture for months. If you follow trends at the Grammys, though, you know that “Golden” getting into Best Song is a big deal. Up until now, tunes from animated films have gone overlooked in the Song of the Year category for almost 3 decades! The last one was way back from The Lion King - not even Frozen's "Let It Go" received a nomination

It makes you feel better it took the award for best soundtrack at the world soundtrack awards.

Then why did this site not make reports on Ne Zha 2 from China breaking records?
They make articles about to be hero X here?
