I saw the first couple volumes of this one at my local library and picked it up because of the cool title. I was as surprised by it as you were! As with anything this episodic the stories are a bit hit-or-miss, but when it hits, it really hits. I remember the one about the expressionless boy most vividly. That really stuck out to me as a very well-done horror vignette.

I really love this manga; its a hidden gem, and I'm glad you wrote this article.

I also enjoyed the twist endings. The tragic ones were the best (yes, I'm mean) and like you mentioned, this manga can get brutal. I'm shocked that Viz didn't give this an OT (16+) rating.

However....I didn't enjoy the final volume. The manga suddenly tries to have a plot, but it was weird and dull. Its too bad.

This comes at a great time because I just ordered this whole set of books from ebay yesterday. It has been on my to buy list for a while. After this article, I am even more excited to read them now.

Talk about a series that looks to be right up my alley! Thanks Jason. Now to try to snatch it up before it goes out of stock everywhere.

After reading this I immediately reserved the first three volumes from the library. They all just came in tonight so I look forward to starting.

Thanks for the review! Smile

I got the first several volumes from the library, and I'm hooked enough to have chased down all the volumes to add to my personal library.

This is a great series.

Thanks, Jason, I don't know how many series your column has gotten me to read and enjoy.
