NHK Enterprises' official English website for the second season of the Log Horizon anime is listing that the sequel series will be 25 episodes in length.

The series will premiere in Japan on NHK's E-Tele channel on October 4. Yun*chi will return from the first series to perform the second season's ending theme song, "Wonderful Wonder World*."

The adaptation of Mamare Touno's novel begins when 30,000 Japanese gamers are trapped in the fantasy online game world Elder Tale. What was once a "sword-and-sorcery world" is now the "real world." Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Akasuki join together to survive.

The anime studio Satelight produced the first 25-episode series for airing on the public broadcaster NHK's E-Tele channel. Shinji Ishihira directed the anime, and Toshizo Nemoto was in charge of the series scripts. The series starred Takuma Terashima as Shiroe, Emiri Katō as Akatsuki, and Tomoaki Maeno as Naotsugu. The series also starred Jouji Nakata as Nyanta, Daiki Yamashita as Tōya, Nao Tamura as Minori, Tetsuya Kakihara as Lundellhaus, and Eriko Matsui as Isuzu.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American release.
