Funimation's Inari Kon Kon Home Video Rights Includes OVA

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Funimation confirmed via Facebook that its home video rights to the anime Inari Kon Kon (Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha) include the original video anime (OVA). The OVA "episode 11" shipped in Japan with the eighth volume of Morohe Yoshida's Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha romantic comedy manga.

The manga and anime revolves around Inari Fushimi, a shy, not-so-bright middle school girl living in Kyoto's Fushimi ward. She has a crush on her classmate Tanbabashi, but cannot express her feelings. One day, as thanks for helping a fox pup, the deity U-KA-no-Mitama-no-Kami grants her the ability to shape-shift.

Tōru Takahashi (Orphen: The Revenge) directed the series with assistant director Hideki Okamoto (director of Battle Girls - Time Paradox, D.C. II: Da Capo II). Touko Machida (Karneval, Amnesia, The Everyday Tales of a Cat God) was in charge of the series scripts, and Yuka Takashina (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna, Venus to Mamoru, D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~) served as character designer and chief animation director. Takeshi Senoo (Aria the Animation, Himawari!) scored the soundtrack. Production IMS animated the series.

Funimation streamed the series as it aired this past winter and plans to release the series in 2015 with English subtitles only.
