King of Fighters Animated Adaptation Premiering Q1 2016 on Streaming Services

Chinese website Tencent Games reported that Chinese game publisher 37Games' planned animated adaptation of SNK Playmore's The King of Fighters fighting game series is slated to premiere on streaming sites and services sometime in the first quarter of 2016 (April-June).
A live-action adaptation is also being planned.
The company announced that both adaptations will be primarily targeted to Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian markets, but it is also planning a North American release.
37Games acquired the majority stake in Japanese game developer SNK Playmore in 2015.
The franchise previously inspired a four-episode original net animation from Production I.G. titled The King of Fighters: Another Day in 2005 and 2006.
SNK Playmore released an arcade version of the latest installment in The King of Fighters franchise, King of Fighters XIII, in Japan in July 2010. The company then released a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version in North America, Europe, and Japan in 2011. SNK Playmore USA also released the game for PC on Steam. SNK Playmore plans to release The King of Fighters XIV this year.
