The official website for the My Hero Academia The Movie: Futari no Hero (My Hero Academia the Movie: The Two Heroes) anime film revealed a new visual for the film on Monday. The visual shows the film's original characters Melissa and Devitt.
Mirai Shida will play Melissa, a quirkless girl whom Deku meets on I Island, and Katsuhisa Namase will play Melissa's father Devitt, who was a friend of All Might in his younger days. Devitt is a scientist who makes hero support items, and Melissa works hard to follow in his footsteps.
The film will open in Japan on August 3.
The film will take place "overseas," on a giant manmade floating movable city called "I Island." The film will take place after the Final Exam Arc, during "another summer" during the "Forest Training Arc." In addition, the film will show the "younger days" of All Might.
Original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi is credited with the original work, character designs, and as chief supervisor. Returning staff members include director Kenji Nagasaki at BONES, scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi. TOHO is distributing the film.
