Anime Tamago 2019 Shorts Debut on TV on June 24

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Yomiuri TV announced on Tuesday that it will air the Anime Tamago 2019 project's shorts. The channel will air Wit Studio's Hello WeGo! on June 24, Keica and Griot Groove's Tatakae! Space Attendant Aoi on July 1, Nippon Animation's Chuck Shimezō on July 1, and Flying Ship Studio's Captain Bal on July 8.

The shorts screened at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas in Tokyo on March 9.

As in previous years, the anime shorts trained young animators on-the-job as part of the Japanese government's Agency of Cultural Affairs' "Young Animator Training Project." The project was previously known as "Anime Mirai."

The Japanese government's Agency of Cultural Affairs launched its "Young Animator Training Project" in 2010 with the aim of fostering the growth of domestic animation studios, and tackling the concern that more of the Japanese animation process is being outsourced overseas. The project has spawned such works as Little Witch Academia, Death Billiards (which inspired the Death Parade television anime), and Ongaku Shōjo.
