posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the stage play adaptations of Yoshinobu Akita's Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (Majutsushi Orphen Haguretabi) light novel series revealed a new visual for the second stage play on Sunday.

The second stage play will run at Rikkōkai Hall in Tokyo from November 7-12. The first stage play ran at Shinjukumura LIVE in Tokyo from August 15-18.

Takehiro Yoshida is writing the scripts, and Ichidai Matsuda is directing the plays.

The stage plays and new television anime are commemorating the novels' 25th anniversary. The anime will premiere in January 2020.

Akita began the light novel series in 1994 with illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka. The novels spawned the 1998-1999 anime of the same name, as well as the 1999-2000 anime Orphen: The Revenge. ADV Films released both anime in North America, and ADV Manga later published the novels' manga adaptation. The novels have more than 10 million copies in print. J-Novel Club licensed the novels and is releasing them digitally.
