Before this animation series, this title was broadcasted twice as TV drama(in 1967 and 1978). Yumiko Kokonoe (Queen) acted Comet in former drama series, and Kumiko Ohba(Queen's sister) also acted Comet in latter drama series.
The singer and actress who plays the voice of "Queen," Yumiko Kokonoe, is the original human character of the "Kometto-San" series that ran in Japan in the late 60's. Yumiko Kokonoe is extremely famous in Mexico and other Latin American countries as reruns of the original series in Spanish are very popular. There are many internet sites containing information -in Spanish- about "Señorita Cometa," as she is best known. Unfortunately, it is said that the original Spanish language films of the series were lost when the building hosting Channel 5 of Televisa collapsed during an earthquake in 1985 in Mexico City. Some four homemade tapes containing a different episode each -of more than 70- are known to have survived. Yumiko Kokonoe, in her role of Señorita Cometa, is possibly the most famous Japanese person in Mexico.
