The first theatrical Dragon Ball Z movie in 18 years.

This is the first Dragon Ball movie to feature Hikaru Midorikawa & Unshou Ishizuka as the voices of Tenshinhan & Mr. Satan respectively.

According to Akira Toriyama, he did this film in part as personal vengeance for the creation of the live action film: "Dragonball: Evolution".

Beers and Whis are named after the alcoholic beverages "beer" and "whiskey".

Toriyama's inspiration for Beers's design came from his Cornish Rex cat.
