Trivia:

Although there are 3 episodes in the Kujibiki Unbalance OVA, the Kujibiki Unbalance TV series, which exists only within the universe of the Genshiken anime series, is much longer. The three episodes in this OVA represent episodes 1, 21, and 25 of the fictional TV series.

The two Western character surnames (belonging to Risa and Ritsuko of the student council) are both references to military vehicles. Risa, of course, is named after the American High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (better known as the Humvee, or Hummer). Ritsuko's name is a reference to a pair of World War II-era German vehicles -- the four-wheeled Kübelwagen (sold to civilians as the Volkswagen Thing) and the Kleines Kettenkraftrad tracked motorcycle (the name of which is frequently abbreviated to the easier-to-pronounce Kettenkrad).

In the 1st Genshiken manga, there is an extra section about Kujibiki Unbalanced. It mentions the names of the voice actors who voice out the characters of Kujibiki Unbalanced within the world of Genshiken. However, only two voice actors actually played their parts in the OVA, Yokari Tamura (playing Komaki Asagiri) and Ayako Kawasumi (playing Kasumi Kisaragi). On an interesting note, Tokino, the heroine of the story, was said to be played by Yui Horie, the popular voice actor who played Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina, which was written by Ken Akematsu. The actual voice actor who is playing Tokino in real life is Akemi Kanda, the voice actor who played Asuna from Negima, another one that was written by Ken Akematsu
