Reference to GAINAX anime (episode 5): While feeding his koi, Yoshitaka calls each of them by name. All of his koi share a name with a GAINAX anime character (Rei and Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Noriko, Kasumi, Linda, and Jung from Gunbuster).

Reference to GAINAX anime (episode 8): During Karin’s exploration of the mansion, she comes across a room full of plush dolls and figures. Every single toy in this room depicts a character from a GAINAX series. Puchi Puri Yuushi, Evangelion, FLCL, Mahoromatic, Kare Kano, Melody of Oblivion, Gunbuster, Gunbuster 2, Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai, He is my Master, and Nadia - Secret of Blue Water are all represented.

Reference to GAINAX anime (episode 8): Another room Karin stumbles upon is full of various school uniforms. Uniforms from FLCL, Kare Kano, and Evangelion appear, among others.

Reference to GAINAX anime (episode 10): During the 2nd part of the contest, Yoshitaka and Seiichirou must make a figure of their ideal maid. Seiichirou's figure is dressed exactly like Mahoro from Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden.

During episode 1, Mitsuki is wearing a hoodie with the word KERO (who is from Card Captor Sakura) written across it with the shape of his head in the centre of the 'E' and the 'R'.

During the preview of episode 7 at the end of episode 6, Anna mentioned that she has drawn a yuri manga called "Kore ga Watashi no Onee-sama (She is my big sister)," with dialogues like "loosen garter belt" and "Alligator-God watches over us," an evident parody of Maria-sama ga Miteru. Kana Ueda, voice actress of Anna, plays main character Yumi Fukuzawa in MariMite. Furthermore, she has a yuri manga magazine in her hands in episode 7 with Yumi and Sachiko on its cover.

A quick one in Episode 12, when Yoshitaka tells Seiichiro that he lost, Seiichiro gives a quick one liner about the "Exchange of Equivalency", which works because Seiichiro is voiced by Romi Paku, Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist!
