Blind singer. Born to a Mexican-American US soldier and a Japanese mother. After his birth, midwife accidentally applied wrong eye drop and blinded him. His parents divorced a year later and he was raised by his maternal grandmother, who died when he was 14. His troubled adolescence was changed by church music from radio and led him becoming a singer and pastor.
