 Jean, Nadia and King are once again stranded at sea following an unprovoked attack on the U.S. Battleship Abraham by a mysterious submarine. The youths are rescued by CAPTAIN NEMO and the crew of the Nautilus at the prompting of ELECTRA - first officer of Nemo's amazing submarine. Jean is fascinated by the capabilities of the new technology they encounter on Nemo's vessel. He quickly dismisses any possibility that Nemo may be responsible for the disappearance of his father. Nadia is not so quick to befriend these puzzling submarines.
 But before Jean and Nadia can learn much about Nemo and his awesome vessel, the Nautilus is attacked by the same submarine which rammed the U.S.S. Abraham.
 Nemo resorts to "silent running" in an attempt to outwit his attackers. But even the best plans of a master tactician can be foiled by the zeal of youth.
