In the above image, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Afro, the protagonist of the Funimation/Gonzo collaborative anime series Afro Samurai. The series is based on manga creator Takashi Okazaki's work of the same name. In the series, Afro is the #2 samurai in an alternative version of feudal Japan, and he seeks vengeance on the man who killed his father.
The photo was taken at the Sakura-Con 2010 anime convention, which took place from April 2 to 4 in Seattle.
