Kitbashed Hatsune Miku Figure Gets 389,000-Yen Bid

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Cobbled, repainted from figure parts worth 16,630 yen

A kitbashed Hatsune Miku "wedding dress version" figure received a winning 389,000-yen (about US$5,000) bid on the Yahoo! Japan Auction website on November 10. The seller aiua_xx cobbled the figure by combining the body of the ToHeart2XRated Tamaki Kōsaka ~Mariage~ [sic] figure with the head of the Hatsune Miku Tony Version figure to re-imagine the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid character as a 20-year-old bride.

The seller repainted both parts, added shading, corrected texture imperfections, and added a new necklace. The finished piece received 96 bids before the auction closed last month.

As of Monday, Amazon.co.jp was selling the ToHeart2XRated Tamaki Kōsaka ~Mariage~ figure for 7,980 yen (about US$100) and the Hatsune Miku Tony Version figure for 8,650 yen (about US$111), creating a total price of 16,630 yen (about US$210). The retail prices for the ToHeart2XRated Tamaki Kōsaka ~Mariage~ [sic] and Hatsune Miku Tony Version figures are 10,290 yen (about US$130) and at 8,800 yen (about US$113), respectively, for a 19,090-yen (about US$245) total value.
