Sonic Lost World Gamescom Trailer Highlights Co-Op Modes

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Game slated for 3DS, Wii U on October 22

Sega America began streaming its Gamescom trailer for the Nintendo 3DS/Wii U video game Sonic Lost World on Wednesday. The trailer focuses on two-player gameplay from the Nintendo Wii U version, including co-op and versus modes.

The game will have both single-player and competitive multi-player modes. The Wii U version will have an exclusive two-player "support mode" in which one player can use a standard Wii Remote and Nunchuk to control Sonic, while another player assists on the GamePad.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced the title during a live-streamed Nintendo Direct presentation in May. The latest game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is a brand-new action adventure platformer and the result of a worldwide partnership between Sega and Nintendo.

The game was first revealed through a trademark filing by Sega in June in Europe. The game will be released for both systems on October 22.
