Nintendo Developers Aya Kyogoku, Risa Tabata Discuss Industry and Projects

Mario franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto and the franchise's long-time designer Takashi Tezuka went into detail about the level creation process as part of Nintendo's promotion for the Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U. The company is now catching up with more developers, this time with a video on Tuesday with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer's Aya Kyogoku and Chibi Robo: Zip Lash's Risa Tabata. Both developers discuss how they got involved in gaming, their experiences as women in the industry, and their upcoming projects.
Nintendo's Super Mario Maker promotion is also in full gear. Food Network's Cake Wars program had a Nintendo-themed episode on Monday that included a giant Mario and Nintendo of America's Krysta Yang. The episode will air again on Saturday for anyone that missed it. Next week's episode will be Hello Kitty-themed and air on Monday.

The European release of Super Mario Maker will get a special amiibo bundle, those interactive figures that fly off of store shelves. Nintendo will release the game in Europe on September 11 as a standard edition, a limited edition, and the console limited edition. The latter two include the Classic Colors Mario based on the plumber's original incarnation. It will, of course, get a Modern Colors variant on October 23. Both will go on sale separately from the game as well.
