Viz HQ To Appear on Nash Bridges

posted on

The converted warehouse headquarters of Viz Communications in San Francisco became a Holywood backdrop on Monday for the CBS cop drama "Nash Bridges".

The show, which stars Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, transformed the office into an architecture firm called "Beelay Associates", and a scene that involved a showdown between a gunman and the two cops (with the aid of an entire S.W.A.T. team) was shot in the office of Viz president Seiji Horibuchi.

The rework of the Viz offices was was completed over the weekend, and Viz personnel were excited to learn that many of the crew (including the extras, whom were really S.W.A.T. officers) were otaku. "One technician asked Editor Carl Gustav Horn where he could find a Captain Harlock poster, and Johnson and Marin were amused by a twelve-foot-tall leather-clad Fujiko doll from the classic manga Lupin III," according the Viz press release.

The episode is expected to air in 1999.
