Central Park Media to launch CD-on-demand service

Business Wire reports that CDKnet, a multimedia technology company, will be working with Central Park Media to provide a web-based service where users can custom-build CD-ROM's of digitized commercial anime releases as well as anime art and audio tracks. Other companies have launched custom audio CD building on the web, but this is believed to be the first (legal) venture into custom digitized video on CD-ROM.
The system will utilize CDKnet's new MixFactory technology that streamlines the process of custom CD creation from user selections on the web. The new service will be available this summer through CPM's web site (www.centralparkmedia.com), and will offer next-day delivery. "CPM has always looked to new technology to help reach the widest possible audience,'' said CPM Managing Director John O'Donnell. "CPM was the first anime company to release CD-ROM's as well as dual language DVD's. We're very happy to work with CDKnet to utilize their ground-breaking technology to offer yet another way for our viewers to enjoy these fine programs.''
