Press Release for the New Newtype

posted on
A press release addressing the Digital Manga version of the English Newtype Magazine. Covering topics from a release to Akadot's cut back on coverage.

English Language Version of Newtype Currently in Development

Digital Manga Welcomes Voice of the Anime Community

Los Angeles, CA - Digital Manga, Inc. is on course to publish the English language version of Newtype. Newtype staff has set its inaugural issue's street date for early Spring 2002.

This extended prep time will assure a high quality magazine packed with features and accessories befitting the name Newtype - a big magazine with vivid colors, full double page spreads that cover the spectrum of anime.

The English language version of Newtype will be tailored to North American and European audiences, focusing on shows that are popular outside of Japan. But the magazine will also publish pieces on shows just released in Japan, providing for a balanced look at the global
anime community.

The English Newtype staff is also extremely sensitive to the needs and wants of the fan community and has set up a form on Akadot (Akadot) through which fans can express what they'd like to see in the magazine. Visit the Akadot main page and click on the Nt (Newtype) logo to chime in with your comments.

To make room for Newtype at Digital Manga, Akadot has scaled back its posting schedule from about twelve pieces a week to four. Akadot will continue to provide the fan community with in-depth coverage and thoughtful commentary on the anime industry, but in a limited capacity.
