Pokemon not dead in Japan

280 000 advance tickets for Pocket Monster Advance Generation, opening in Japanese theatres on July 19th were sold in a mere two days. Last year's Pokémon feature only sold 150 000 advance tickets in 13 weeks (an impressive figure nonetheless). The advance tickets for Pocket Monster Advance Generation included a special item for the new Pokémon game.
